FMP Reflection

Now I'm at the end of my FMP I have time to reflect on what I have done and to see how my final out come is and how other people are viewing it.
I am very happy about my final out come and how everything has come together last minute. I have had to do a lot of work in the last week as I didn't have enough mcrami and balloons in tights to finish my FMP. I also has to block out a lot of light from my tunnel so I added some tights with balloons in to darken my side which has worked well. I had to buy some more matts as I didn't have enough of them either.
I feel as though I could of managed my time a little better and got some more mcrami done but I am pleased with what I've achieved. I could of tried out some more different feels under my feet to try and make a wider range as I only have 2 different types of matts and 2 different types of comfy and bubble wrap which doesn't do much under your feet.
Listening to people going round my work and seeing and talking to them after I am happy with their reactions.
Jon one of my tutors helped me put everything up and new where everything was and once is was finished, lights off he walk though and into the wall on the end as he didn't know where he was going and I still find it funny. My parents are yet to go into it and I can't wait.
Members of staff around college have been in and want ones for the kids, other art students and drama students have been in and not wanted to get out. Some people hate the change of texture under food but that's was the idea and people are enjoying going thought.
I say it was worth the many ours of arm knitting and mcrami and blowing up balloons to create this and the many stresses of trying to get the room dark. I would happily do this again and for me it makes me feel like a child going thought and experiencing this over and over again. I also like hearing peoples reactions as they make it round as they experience it. One of the students parents who work in a nusary have said that they would love something like this with all the touchy feely things for the children as they have special needs and would be something different. .

Comments

I am just looking on the fi4rst years blogs to have a nosey and Peter has wrote this about our exhibition so I thougth id copy it over as it helps with the evalutation.

'I have really enjoyed Kim's work which was about body restrictions with her corset the whole set of it was just amazing and it felt like it was really posh and it was just nice! Matt's work is cool as well, I really enjoyed the post-apocalyptic work of it and it linked well to mad-max. Although the best thing that there was had to be the dark room which has turned into a play room full of balloons and soft pillows. I really enjoyed walking through it and I loved it as it was interactive as well!'
