Final design

After looking at the spacing and adding some bits of information at the bottom of the poster i have finally come up with my 2 designs.

With this poster i feel as though my imagery could of been stronger as when the image was scanned in it became rather pixelated the only way i could change this is to redraw the image. I do however like the image.
Over all i like my final out comes.

possible final design

Here are my designs for the construction posters i have used my own imagery, i have photographed the shoes and i have drawn the cigarette

I need to add information about what it is i am warning them about with a fact. This means i need to rethink my spacing and double check that everything is the same on each poster. maybe re jig things.

imagery for poster no smoking

For my no smoking poster i have drawn out a lit cigarette creating the circle with the ling though but i have been told that this is hard the see but i think that it is a good idea.

To change this so that it will fit into my poster i have to edit it on photoshop. I have cropped out the image so that it is just the smoke and the cigarette using the ....... tool. then i went on mode and grey scale to make the image black and white (more so than in the drawing). I where then to apply a filter called fresco but this didn't allow me to create the image so i decided not to use it. Then i went back onto mode and changed it to duo tone and selected back and yellow which made m image these 2 colours. So that i could then add or take away colours from the image i changed the duo tone to RGB then went onto select colour to make the yellow more pronounced. Finally i went onto curves and changed the tones. This is what i have come up with.

character

Once i had created a character with images off of the internet i remembered that using imagers from the internet was copy right but also the different images will/may of been changed or had different effects. Therefore i went into the 3D studio and collected some things that i used in my first character so that i could take the photos and create my character with my own imagery. Here is what i have come up with;
the only thing i dislike about this is the goggles as they seem to be too dark but over all it is similar to my original one made with images off of the internet so I'm happy with this.
Here is my character on the poster i put the original one on;
I do like the other one better though was it is brighter.

Construction poster character

 i thought of creating a character and as i couldn't come up with a human or animal i thought to myself why not make one out of the safety equipment. here are my results;

At first i tried to incorporate the high-vis-vest but it wasn't the type of character i was looking for i wanted something with less body and a bit smaller. therefore i decided to get rid of it and here is my character.
I then decided to put it on a quick poster and i rather like this one as it is simple and rather effective. I also like how the character looks like it is in motion.

improved posters

I have changed the background to a brighter green but that has brought back the original colour of the circles. to some extent i like the colour as it stands out but i feel i should change them to black.
I have changed the background from red to a dark orange as this is less powerful but still stands out.
I have changed this background from a light orange to yellow as i have changed one of the posters to orange and wanted them all different colours.
I have changed the text colour on al the posters as the grey was too light, now that i have darkened all the text it is easier to read.

poster colours

I thought i could change the colours around and have the text that had the colour change to black and change the background to the colour of the text.

What i had forgotten i had done is i had put the circles round the equipment needed to be safe the same colour as the text so i have lost my circles but i do like how it has turned out.
I don't particually like the red but with the other 3 colours it goes nicely.

The only thing is the light grey is to light?? so i need to change that and possible make some of the colours more vibrant.

health and saftey possible posters

i have tried to create a simple poster to show the health and safety in a construction environmnet.

i have created 4 posters all with white backgrounds and they are all bland so i am going to try figure out a back ground colour that works or each individual poster.

the black background darkens the poster and dint make it as eye catching and i need the poster to be seen in the construction room as it is to make people aware in the work place. Although i do like how the colour stands out which i am also trying to do.

Health & Saftey Poster Research

Here are some posters i have found on the internet and i am going to find a style i like then concentrate on the individual components that i need in a poster.
I like how this poster is simple and colourful but i think it is not the right style to suit the age group o am looking at.
I like how this oater is a comic strip and it tells a short story and people can see that a hard hat can come in handy as they do protect you and you need to wear one and the fact that it could happen to anyone so don't take a chance.
I like the imagery on this poster and its comical but the text is too small and people wouldn't take notice plus there is a lot of it, therefore i will try to keep my text as short as it needs to be.
This is a similar poster to one that we have around our college in the art department. people do refute to them.

This poster is boring and bland and i will try and stay away from this style of poster, i want to create something that is eye catchy but has and shows the relative information like this poster.
I like how this poster shows the difference between safety and no safety i might try and incorporate this into my design.
