Art Commission (Assistent Principal)

As a collaboration of piers we have been asked to create a piece of art work for the assistant principals room. The idea of creating this style of art work was from a project i am doing in college and having to create some work for the piece room.
This style of painting is in the style of jackson pollock. I love the free flowing lines and random splatters on the paper.
As a group we decided to try out a few ideas changing the colours around to find out which looked best.
Here is the first trial. We used blues, greens and purples along with black and white. The black and white were to pull out the colours but also separate them. With this piece we all chose a colour and walked around the paper dripping the paint. At the end we added the black and white in line or as best we could.
I loved this as the colours were right and wen together really well.

Here is the second painting. The group decided that the previous painting was a little dull and we wanted to use different colour, brighter colours as the room in which the painting is being hung is painted a dull lime green so we want this painting to stand out.
We have used reds, orange, yellow, green and white and black.
After seeing this one i wasn't so keen on it as it was very bright, although the colours did work very well together.

Here is the 3rd design we tried. As a group we decided the we liked parts from the 1st and 2nd paintings therefore we would try and combine these. In this we have blues, greens, purples, yellow, orange and some reds and white and black over the top.
Putting this one with the other 2 i liked the second one as it stood out more, the colours were better suited and overall was more appealing.

Here is the 4th design we tried out misusing some colour from the colours from the previous design.
I for one was not happy with this design is just looks childish and was not really thought about.

Over all we decided to go with the 2nd design and get it as close as we could to it. We ended up adding blue as it just needed a little extra but this design looks good. It reminds me of a comic book cover. It combines the to that everyone liked.

Here are some photos of me and other piers creating these pieces of work and some better photos ithe the art work.

These art the 4 trial pieces of work.
