Experiments with found and unused objects

I have brought some objects from my house and also some objects that i have made and tired to make them into sculpture. At first i didn't really understand it but then i thought well anything can be a sculpture if i want it to be.

This one with the brolly i really liked and i thought it looked like the coloured corks were trying to pull away from the brolly or even take it in the direction they wanted to go. I left it in the doorway as it was an obstacle and i lied how people had to move round it to get in the room. I also colour co-ordinated the corks with the string so they matched.

I then thought to my self would it work having it upside down. Well then brolly the right way up. And i like it equally and personally i think it has the same effect the sculpture is just bigger this was round.

Amongst all my objects i had a soap gnome and that had a plastic cover over the front of it to protect the shape. I thought i could fit it with plaster to make more gnomes. I added a wire hoop so i could hang it.

Here is a video of my gnome soap on its flying lesson. I liked how bits would break off of the gnome so i thought of doing this.

Experiments

So i have brought in a few thing and i have a plastic cover over a soap which i have tried to cast. The ink i out in the plaster isn't really setting so I'm leaving it for a while and hope it sets.

Also i have a spade and have done a clay mould hoping that drys well but have added paint instead of ink.

I then decided to start dying my corks. And i LOVE them

How can my ideas fit into different areas of art.

This will be a flow of my though process using images i find and the name of the artists.

Found Object Art

Duchamp - The Fountain

More Findings

Im not quite sure what i will do with these yet but i thought they looked interesting. If i stick with the hanging idea i think these or one seperated from this would look good if i were to colour the wood up. I could hang stuff from it aswell....

Augusto Esquivel

So I'm looking for found object art and i came across this guy and i love his work. its just eye catching. He uses buttons hanging to create objects.

Experiment.

So i want to use found object i have decided to go skip dipping and i have some circle bits of metal that i landed down and tried many of times to get a balloon to wrap round one of them without it bursting. IT WORKED eventually.

I like the idea of having something no one wants then making it colour full.
I also like the idea to make these object hang.
