Abstract expressionism
This art movement has been to the artists who painted between 1940s and 1950s. This movement became commonly associated before ww2 and was the first major art movement in american. It was influenced by surrealism and cubism and a development of abstract art.
The art is almost automatic painting as there is no or minimal figurative painting or anything the resembles something else. It is all about displacement.
