Art Deco

Art Deco started in the 1920's after the First World War and started to go out of fashion around 1940 when the next big movement became popular. Art Deco combines traditional crafts with the new machine age and celebrates this new modern world with all its machines.
It is a design style which uses geometric shapes and keeps everything streamlined.

One fashion style in Art Deco is the flapper girl.
The flapper girl was all about how woman's fashion had changed from being feminine to being rather boyish. Woman no longer had long hair they had bobs, their dresses were no longer curved but straight down.
