Life drawing

Today we are using paint to create out life drawing pictures....
I don't like using paint was my very 1st thought!

So we started and i have to say i was pleased with my first painting.
This one was a shorter pose which is why i haven't done much and i am not as happy with this one.

Towards the end of the time painting i started blending more and using more white and i am starting to like painting with my hands in this way.

Alternative miss world

What even is alternative miss world?
What i know its is a show of all creations; the weird and the wonderful.
You are allowed to make your self into what ever you want, some people have become monsters, used balloons to create immaculate dresses and some just simply paining their own bodies.
Heres some photos:

I love the brightness of the costumes and how bizarre some of well mot of them are. I can't wait to do this project.

More for my personal statement

Why this sources?
I would love the oppunity to carry on developing and creating my weird and wonderful ideas.
I enjoy creating mess, equally getting messy, experimenting with different materials therefore furthering my skills with a different materials and creating my ideas.

Do my current studies relate to the course?
Currently I am an art and design student in my foundation year.

Skills..
Through out the time I have been at the college I have experimented with fabrics, paint, clay, wire, string and computer software e.g photoshop, illustrator and (media software).
I am good at working well in a team and also as an individual.

Why do I think I'm suitable for the course?
I believe I am suited for this course as I'm very enthusiastic about what I do and I love doing it.
When I'm at work and there's nothing to do I'll often do some sketches on my notepad to put in my sketchbooks,

Why does this subject interest you?
I remember in primary school year 6 always setting up the art lessons with my teacher and getting excited that we would be doesn't something different or using a different material, people used to say I was good at art and still do although now art has changed for me dramatically as gcse and AS level art is copying really and now it's flipped on its head shook up and put back down again.
Being able to do so many things with one material and seeing how different people interpreted things differently is amazing, I don't want to be the same as someone else and art is more you than math or English I see.

live brief??
I have worked with other student to work towards designing and then helping to creat a sculpture for the town of worksop. We had to co-oporate with the local council and cambells design who were making the final product.

I have created

I have created some of what I would say Amazing peices, one which I have worn down a (fashion show) which the college runs every year, it was a spontaneous make that didn't take too long and Spring off one of my previous ideas. The other peice which I really enjoyed the prowess of making apwas my final project of last year which was a mini play/sence zone.

Opening sentence?
-Personally, art for me is a sanctuary, somewhere to go to.
-For me art is what i enjoy doing, something that relaxes but can frustreate me, something i like to question and make others do that same.
-Art, What is it that i like well love about this subject....

Personal statement.

Black is what I think it ok.

Red is I think its babble and isn’t relevant so I’ve moved it .

Letters and numbers

From the information i got from my veg i have created some graphics using the individual letters and number to do with the veg. This is what i have come up with

From what i created i decided to put them into a fixed shape, the shape states the same throughout but the information changes. I do like these designs, I'm proud of myself as i don't normally do so well with graphics.

Art Nouveau and Art Deco

Pre Raphaelites

Arts and Crafts Movement

Art Nouveau
This was the movement before Art Deco
Everything flowed as people were looking at organic design and geometric forms.
Late 19th and early 20th centary until art deco took over in 1920s
Aimed at modernising the previous style
Darwin and Froid
The metro in parris
A declaration for the new art in the new century

Art Deco 1920s - 1940s
after the 1st world war, you had the freedom to have almost anything war was over you weren't rationed.
it combined the machine age with the crafts (more mechanical)
empire state is more art deco

The music in the 1920s was swing and jazz all happy music for all the people who survived the first world war.
Technology was advancing and everyone was excited and getting on board with it.
Charabanc was a type of open top bus which was the alternative to the horse and cart.
Fashion had changed from long curved dressed to loosely fitted clothing that showed no figure and the long hair was gone it was cut to a bob. This was influenced in one way by the discovery of tu tu carmon and how the Egyptians dressed.
On one of the videos i have watched there is a gentleman measuring how much leg and arm woman had out at the beach, it wasn't acceptable to have too much skin out.

At the end of the 20s there was the wall street crash. Art deco lived through the rise and decline of the wealthy life style.

In 1925 the french held an exhibition......
